What to Expect

Avionics Engineers work in one of the most technologically advanced branches of engineering. They design, construct, test, and maintain aircraft. Working within this field, will give you the chance to conceptualise a project, from the drawing board to planning and implementation.

The paradigm of the programme is skill-based with less focus on theories and more on coursework and applications. You will be taught the intricacies of aircraft avionics systems, the various types of system failure that can occur and the implications of failure. You will be provided with the vital skills needed to work as an applied avionics engineer working for an airline or the military.

Accreditation

The Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Avionics Technology is a dual award programme conferred by Emirates Aviation University and Coventry University, UK.

  • This degree has been accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) under licence from the UK regulator, the Engineering Council.  Accreditation is a mark of assurance that the degree meets the standards set by the Engineering Council in the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC).  An accredited degree will provide you with some or all of the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills for eventual registration as an Incorporated (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng).  Some employers recruit preferentially from accredited degrees, and an accredited degree is likely to be recognised by other countries that are signatories to international accords.
